Shortlisted entries will be printed in a booklet of Chiltern Arts Poetry 2018, and the winning poems will be announced and read at the Chiltern Arts Festival by renowned children’s author, Gillian Cross, on Sunday 4th February 2018 at our WW1 Discovery Day in Henley.

Competition Theme: Memory

2018 is the final year of the World War One Centennial Anniversary. Chiltern Arts will be commemorating the Great War with several events throughout the festival in February, including a Music of World War One Discovery Day, poetry readings and a sound and art installtion entitled 1918: Memory. This year’s poetry compettion theme is ‘Memory’ and inspiration can be drawn from the events of World War One itself, memories that are personal to the writer, or anything else that the theme inspires.
