The number 4 has special significance in Czech music, with many composers’ dates of birth, death, or signifcant works appearing in years ending with the number 4. This year, 100 years on from the first ‘Year of Czech Music’, we celebrate with the outstanding Alinde Quintet who present a programme of music entirely by Czech composers. Featuring both original works for wind quintet and arrangements of well-known pieces including Dvořák’s American Quartet, these five remarkable players will have you seeking more opportunities to take part in the celebrations.
Join us for a taste of Czech cuisine too — with traditional snacks available at the bar!
The Alinde Quartet’s visit to the UK is supported by the Czech Centre and Year of Czech Music.
Take Note is our young artist platform, championing young professional ensembles. We are grateful to the Worshipful Company of Musicians for their support of this scheme.
